Framed ‘Young Workers’ Patriotic Guild’ commemorative certificate from 1917. Kew Historical Society collection

Unfortunately, much of the material that would tell us about the history of individuals, families, businesses and organisations in Kew and Kew East has been lost. This is possibly because individuals, organisations and businesses do not see the things they possess (photographs, diaries, account books etc) as relevant to our history.

The Society collects items relating to the political, environmental, social and cultural history of the area formerly known as the City of Kew, and now incorporated within the City of Boroondara. The Society will accept items that it can effectively store, and potentially exhibit. Items may include: documents, books, maps, plans, photographs, artefacts, ephemera and three dimensional objects.

If you would like to make a donation to the Society please contact the Archivist by email (archivist@kewhistoricalsociety.org.au) or by writing to ‘The Archivist’, c/o KHS, PO Box 175, Kew VIC 3101.
